I build software for a living and make photographs because I can't help it. The camera comes out on weekends, on holidays, and sometimes at 4am when the light is doing something I've never seen before.

The passion
Photography and videography are my escape, not my livelihood. There's no client brief, no deadline, no invoice at the end. Just me, a camera, and whatever the world decides to offer that morning.

I grew up in Nepal, where the Himalayas were just there — enormous and indifferent in the background of everyday life. Moving to Australia gave me a completely different visual language: coastline, dry light, vast distances. I'm still learning to read it.
Music is the other constant — guitar and drums since I was a teenager, though the camera has been getting more of my weekends lately.
Day job
I've spent my career building web applications and thinking about systems — how things connect, how they fail, how to make them easier for humans to use. It's genuinely work I enjoy, which makes me lucky.
There's more overlap between writing code and making photographs than most people expect. Both reward patience, iteration, and a willingness to scrap something that almost works and start again.
